My wife and I couldn't ask for a warmer welcome at the door. Janis and Peter were very inviting, and made you feel right at home - like you were a long lost friend returning home. They even invited me into their living room to watch our TeamNZ boys knock the shines out of the Oracle USA team in the Americas Cup races. Being a keen Americas Cup fan, and desperate for our boys to bring the Cup back home, it was a treat indeed.
The place is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Clean and tidy, and my most important requirement - a good bed! The bed was just perfect - not too soft and not too hard. I was like a bug in a rug and slept like a log:-)
The rooms are well positioned and the whole place is so light and bright - high up on the hill, overlooking the sea.
The area is one of the most beautiful and peaceful parts of the Auckland Region. So if you are a nature lover with a passion for walks, you can't go wrong. Shakespear Park is teeming with birds. I saw Tui, Fantails, Wood pigeon, and many more.
If ever you are in the area, this is definitely the best place to stay. We will always come back here when we can, because I know Janis and Peter will make us welcome and take good care of us.”

“ Our first stop in New Zealand. A fantastic introduction in every way. Janis recommended the 'Waterfall Gully" walk in Shakespear Regional Park to us for our first evening. This was wonderful- so many birds and gret scenery. We feel we could have stayed here longer but there is so much to see in New Zealand, 3 weeks is not long enough. ”

“ Our heartfelt thanks for your most generous and pleasant stewardship and host in your lovely home and beautiful land.
We feel truly blessed to have landed here for our first trip outside the U.S. and Canada. Between trips on the ferry to Tiritiri Matangi and Auckland City and road trips to the Gannet Colony at Muriwai, we feel our favourite place was right here at your place. The walks on the green slopes and amongst the sheep at Shakespear Regional Park to see the 360 degrees views from the lookout of sea, sky and islands. Thank you for all your assistance and yummy breakfast. We think N.Z., your home, Bed & Breakfast and you are second to none and will live in our hearts forever. We do hope we can return one day. ”
